Your Price Tag

For ye are bought with a price : therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s .  I Corinthians 6:20

I have come to observe that, usually in life, “expensive” comes with “quality”. The most expensive of clothes comes with quality. The most expensive automobiles comes with quality. Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Jaguar, Rolls Royce etc. are all expensive brands that comes with quality.

Have you ever paused in life, as a Human being and a Christian to consider the price tag over your life? You are the most expensive ‘thing’ on earth. You are priceless because of the price tag on your life. “for ye are bought with a price”.

Salvation is usually said to be free and yes it is “for by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast”. Now it is very true that our salvation is free but note something, “it is the gift of God”. This gift of God, cost a price and it is this price that has been placed on our lives.

 For  as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold from vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without a spot. 1Peter 1;18-19. 

This is it! This is the price tag on your life, “The precious blood of Christ”, “Being born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever”.

As a christian, if you are to be cost(ed), the price that will be placed on you will be the precious blood of Christ. Shouldn’t this tell you something? You are not cheap. This should not call for arrogance –but a life that is led on purpose with a focus on who we are in Christ. You cannot live your life anyhow, you cannot believe everything you hear, you cannot look down on yourself and you cannot look down on the next person either.

There is a great potential deposited in each and every one of us. If only we will look at ourselves again and consider what it means to be a Christian and the investment God has placed in us, we will rise up ans achieve so much for God and for our lives. Impacting generations, changing nations, reaching out to the unsaved, being the voice of heaven on earth and representing what Christ stood for “I have come that they might have life life and have it more abundantly”.

Friend, this is your generation, you cannot just pass through-you need to leave an imprint  of your footsteps on this generation- not an imprint of self glorification and self preservation, but an imprint of the glory of God-because you are bought with a price.
